Early Magazine covers-
The main attribute for Early magazine covers was to model their covers similar to books at time. Meaning that they would have table of contents and dedication and title all on the cover. They were very basic and generic covers at this time period. Also, some magazines didn't have any covers, like newspapers.

Most magazine covers during this time period were poster covers and they were covers that really didn't have much writing or information on the front and they just had a picture. Many artwork posted on the covers were from Charles dana gibson and Maxfield parrish. They had the best work for this kind of cover at this time period.
Pictures married to type-
The main attributes of pictures married to type was to get readers to read these magazines by their cover lines. Most of the magazines just had art work and pictures on their cover while pictures married to type had all of that and cover lines. These were the first famous magazine covers to have cover lines.
In the forest of words-
The main attribute for in the forest of words was to get readers attention by putting descriptions and information all on the from cover. These magazines were the first to have description and information on the front cover. They were also the most famous type of magazines. These days, a picture isn't big enough to get peoples attention so big headlines an information on the cover helps grab their attention.
